One more time, just for old times sake, let’s all buy the same six films for the very last time. Well, until the ultra mega special holographic boxed set comes out in 2013.

I’m not sure why anyone would buy the Blu-Ray set of Star Wars.
- The originals are best watched as just that, the originals, in that format. The enhanced versions are just weird.
- Disks are on the way out. Why buy more, and at that price? If I want to watch Star Wars, I’ll stream it. I’m done with disks.

Pretty hefty read, for a blog post, but some really nice insight into Alexander’s reading style and the effect of the eBook and eReader. I picked up my Kindle a couple months ago. I haven’t used it as much as I thought, but I also have a good amount of physical books I’m still working through.
I imagine I’ll get a few more crossed off the list, while adding some to the Kindle, and then adding more when I get the iPad v2.
But a blend is what I’ll always have. Sometimes you can’t beat a good hardcover biography or classic that I’ll keep forever and pass down to my kids.
“But if I learned anything from all of this, it’s my first, oldest lesson as a reader: There is always going to be a book that saves you. There is also a new lesson: You do not know how it will get to you.”

Cubs Go With Quade as Manager
What’s next for Sandberg? No one knows. But we do know he has no future with the Cubs. And that’s a shame.
I’m bummed. I wanted Sandberg or Girardi. I’m glad it’s not Torre, but I hope Sandberg gets another shot with the Cubbies, or that Quade is a pleasant surprise.

YouTube HTML5 Safari Extension – Awesome
Distraction Crutches
I didn’t need to have any software blocking any website, I didn’t have to disconnect from the Internet, and so on. I finished my work on time, and I ended up feeling less tired than I thought. But most of all, I felt focussed and in control.
Good points. I like WriteRoom for its simplicity, but I don’t need it to write. I’ve had issues getting work done with Tweetie, Skype, Reader, etc. open. Growl is awesome, but can be a huge distraction. I shut down the app, switch to a new space, and get to work.
Ruining Usability Tests
Play the reel. It’s awesome. Music is Explosions in the Sky’s “First Breath After Coma“, from the Friday Night Lights TV Show – love it.
