Helping A Fellow Entrepreneur - My Kiva Experience
28/01/2008
So a few months ago (May), I decided to give Kiva a try. Basically, Kiva is a place where you can lend money to less fortunate entrepreneurs in other countries, to help them establish a business. Well my money went to Shamis Allah Neamat Allah.
From their website:
Kiva lets you connect with and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. By choosing a business on Kiva.org, you can “sponsor a business” and help the world’s working poor make great strides towards economic independence.
My experience with Kiva was great. I felt good about lending money, and they provided me monthly updates whenever Shamis made a payment. My advice to you - think about using Kiva - try it out with $10 or $25 and help someone out in a less fortunate situation.
